The Foundation
Antonio Menchaca de la Bodega Foundation was created in 1947 by D. Antonio Menchaca Careaga, in his fathers memory,establishing as it aims the fulfilment of social activities for the needy and the development of science and culture.
-The foundation acts basically in the historical territory of Bizkaia, although it can also conducts activities outside this geographical area when deemed appropriate by its board.
-Because of the incessant activiting in favour of the needy, the Foundation has been awarded with the Utopia award in 2001, conceded by the Regional Goverment of Bizkaia.

Subsidies: 
Nowadays, the foundation gives some subsidies to these people that work in social action, giving preference to those that work with socially excluded people and to those who do not have any other kind of economic aid to conduct their activities.

Antonio Menchaca de la Bodega's Foundation, through a public call, gives a number of awards to these people and entities who have been well-know in their daily life because of their solidary effort. These awards are called:" Solidarity Awards".

Agreements
Within the activities of the Foundation, it must be mentioned that some agreements with several entities are made in favour of the development of project.
- Fulfilled Agreements:
SURRENDER OF PROPERTY: The Foundation has used a mezzanine
that is located between Altube and Villabaso streets, to the San Vincente de Paul Society. From this local, the institution carries out a work of cultural aid for the youth that lives in area.
DISASTER AID: In 2001, the Foundation made a economic contribution
to the Red Cross to help the people that lived in the area which was devasted by the hurricane Mitch, in El Salvador.
In the same way, in 2005 the Foundation made an economic contribution to Doctors of the World to help the area affected by the Tsunami in December 2004.
